The Mill Food Recycler is an electric food recycler for indoor use, featuring a capacity of 6.5 litres per cycle and carrying a 2-year warranty. There's more to the Mill than that, though, as you can add a pick-up service to redirect your food waste to farmers.

What owners report
Compiled from owner reports gathered Aug 2026. Sources are stated in the text; we never use retail-site reviews.
To assess the Mill Food Recycler, we verified and assessed 15 owner reports from everything from Reddit composting and zero-waste communities to full blog reviews. Feedback was mostly positive - owners noted that the Mill cut trash significantly, and several owners said they only needed to empty the bucket once a month.
Most owners found that odor control was good as long as the carbon filter was seated correctly, although one user did return their device over an acrid smell. However, some users reported that hard or fibrous scraps, such as bones, avocado pits and coconut shells could cause jams.
The device output is dried, ground waste rather than compost. However, while it isn’t compost it does have multiple uses, with owners feeding it to chickens as well as to wormeries and compost piles.
The most common complaint from users was the price of the device, but that price does seem to buy reliability, with no complaints of failures. (Oldest reports were from 12 months' usage, so we can’t be sure about longer periods.)
Do note that the setup of the device needs both the Mill app and a wifi connection. One user bought it second hand and wasn’t immediately able to connect it, but Mill customer service proved able to resolve the issue.
The Mill Food Recycler has seen mostly positive feedback from the 15 owner reports that we assessed.
