From our testingThe Johanna is not insulated, but I had no problem getting hot temperatures despite that - suggesting the design is effectively funneling air up through the bin. A separate insulating jacket is available for winter use.
Rat resistance 4/5 After six months of testing, no sign of rats - though a determined rat might chew the outer material.
